PREVENTING RELAPSE
IS A DAILY ROUTINE OF FOLLOWING UP ON WHAT'S KEPT YOU CLEAN SO FAR. AS RECOVERING ADDICTS WE MUST KEEP IN MIND THAT WE ARE NEVER CURED. WE MUST KEEP TAKING OUR PROVERBIAL MEDICINE EVERYDAY. WE MUST REMEMBER THAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH CLEAN TIME WE HAVE, OUR DISEASE STILL WANTS US DEAD. WE NEVER GRADUATE AFTER WORKING THE 12 STEPS, WE BEGIN TO WORK THEM A NEW. WHEN WE ARE YOUNG IN RECOVERY , IT IS STRESSED THAT WE MAKE ATLEAST ONE MEETING A DAY. WE SPEAK WITH OUR SPONSOR EVERYDAY AND WE MAKE IT A POINT TO HANG AROUND OTHER ADDICTS WHO TAKE THEIR RECOVERY AS SERIOUS AS OURS. WE STILL NEED PRAYER AND MEDITATION. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STAY PLUGGED IN, PERHAPS BY DOING SERVICE WORK, SUCH AS BRINGING MEETINGS INTO HOSPITALS AND INSTITUTIONS. WE STAY CLEAN BY HELPING OTHERS. WE CAN'T AFFORD TO FORGET WHERE OUR ADDICTION HAD TAKEN US BEFORE WE FOUND RECOVERY. WE MUST REMEMBER THAT WE CAN BE RIGHT BACK IN OUR ADDICTION, JUST BY MAKING ONE BAD DECISION. AS LONG AS WE KEEP IT GREEN, WE CAN ALWAYS KEEP IT CLEAN.
ENJOY YOUR RECOVERY, AND REMEMBER WHAT A BLESSING IT TRULY IS.

I didn't get clean to be miserable
When your blessed enough as I am, you begin to see each day of your new life as a gift. Everything isn't always perfect, but that is the way it is, no matter who you are. We live life on lifes terms and as soon as we accept that, we begin to find peace and serenity in our lives. We choose to live in the solution and not the problem. Our glass is half full and for that we have great gratitude. We welcome the new day rather than dread it. We learn how to live and enjoy ourselves without the use of mind altering substances. We learn to feel again. We welcome the joy and we accept the sorrow, but we feel again. We've suffered enough. It is our turn to live, and along the way it is our duty to give hope to the addict who still suffers, and show them through our recovery ,that there is truly a better life awaiting them.

We Do Recover
When at the end of the road we find that we can no longer function as a human being, either with or without drugs, we all face the same dilemma. What is there left to do? There seems to be this alternative: either go on as best we can to the bitter ends—jails, institutions or death—or find a new way to live. In years gone by, very few addicts ever had this last choice. Those who are addicted today are more fortunate. For the first time in man’s entire history, a simple way has been proving itself in the lives of many addicts. It is available to us all. This is a simple spiritual—not religious—program, known as Narcotics Anonymous.
